Which Programs Qualify for Federal Aid

Eight programs are eligible for federal financial aid (Title IV): Cosmetology, Esthetics (Basic), Master Esthetics, Electrolysis, Massage Therapy, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Advanced Esthetic Laser Certification, and English as a Second Language (ESL).

For ESL, only Federal Pell Grants may be awarded — other Title IV aid, including Direct Federal Loans, is not available for that program.

Programs of fewer than 200 clock hours — Nail Technician and Cosmetic Laser Technician — and Permanent Cosmetic Tattooing are not eligible for federal financial aid. Payment plans and other options are available for these programs.

Tuition, fees and eligibility shown here are taken from the AVI Career Training Student Catalog 2026–2027. The catalog is the governing document; if anything differs, the catalog controls.
